What's On

Words from the Wild Woods!

Friday 1 June 2018

11.30am & 1.30pm

A teddybear's picnic and storytelling amongst the trees!

If you go down to the woods today you're in for a big surprise...

Bring a picnic (and your favourite teddybear if you wish!) and join storyteller Michael Loader at Batsford Arboretum for traditional tales and spontaneous stories inspired by the animals and the trees, the woods and the forests, the flora and fauna of the land!

Hoot like an owl, leap like a hare, snuffle like a badger, howl like a wolf. Step inside a tree, fly from the canopy, get lost in the woods, dig down into the depths of the forest floor…

…with a murmuring of live music and a pinch of puppetry!

Join us at either 11.30am or 1.30pm. Arboretum admission fee applies.  No need to book, just turn up and enjoy!

"Michael Loader is the real deal! He enraptured the eyes and ears of all children and adults and performed to hundreds of people effortlessly". Ben Hanley, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust
