Terms of Entry

To ensure that all our visitors have a pleasurable visit and for your safety please observe the following on your visit to Batsford Arboretum:

  • Please keep children under supervision at all times. Children under 14 will not be permitted without an adult.
  • We welcome well behaved dogs at Batsford, please keep them on a short fixed lead at all times, including in the arboretum. We have a limited number of short leads available to exchange at the admissions desk if needed (extendable leads are not permitted). Please clean up after your dog – waste can be placed in any of the litter bins around the site.
  • Ensure you have appropriate sturdy outdoor footwear.
  • Please keep to footpaths during and after wet weather.
  • Climbing trees and rocky outcrops is not permitted.
  • Please don’t enter water courses, ponds or lakes.
  • Some of the berries, fruits or leaves may be poisonous and must not be eaten.
  • It is not permitted to play ball games or ride bicycles, balance bikes, scooters, roller skates or blades, skateboards or sledges in the arboretum.
  • We do not allow barbeques or picnicking in the arboretum.
  • Permission must be obtained for all filming and photography for commercial purposes.
  • The use of drones and other flying objects is prohibited.
  • Please note there is no provision for secure left luggage.
  • The Batsford Foundation cannot except responsibility for loss or damage of property or vehicles in the carparks.
  • If you are a member of one of our partner gardens – Bodenham Arboretum or Sir Harold Hillier Gardens – please present your membership card at our admissions desk to enjoy free entry to the arboretum.
  • If you are a member of Westonbirt Arboretum, please also show your membership card on arrival. From 1st July 2026, Westonbirt members will receive 2-for-1 admission when visiting with another paying adult. Members visiting on their own will be charged the standard admission rate.

(Please note that we are unable to verify membership with our partner gardens, as our databases are not connected, so your valid membership card must be shown on arrival. If you arrive without your partner garden membership card, standard admission will apply and we are unable to issue refunds retrospectively).
