Are you interested in volunteering as a warden at Batsford?

The role of a Volunteer Warden involves strolling through the arboretum, often alongside another warden, for a duration of two hours. During this time, you will assist visitors with any information they need to enhance their experience, while also ensuring that safety rules are followed and reporting any issues to the Batsford staff. All necessary information will be provided to you, and you are not expected to know anything about the trees and plants.

Wardens are needed for the upcoming school summer holidays from Saturday 19th July to Sunday 31st August, as well as during the October half-term and Easter. Available time slots are from 11am to 1pm and 1pm to 3pm, every day of the week, including weekends. Weekends are especially important, as the arboretum is busier.

As a token of appreciation, after completing each time slot, you will receive a 20% discount on a hot drink and cake at the Garden Terrace Café for that day. Additionally, if you volunteer for a total of 20 hours, you will be rewarded with a year’s free membership to the arboretum.
