We’re thrilled to announce the installation of a solar panel canopy in our top car park, a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and embracing renewable energy.

This endeavour is close to our hearts, reflecting our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings while embracing innovative solutions for a greener future.

The design consists of a simple steel frame structure with the solar panels sitting on a ‘Y’ pitched canopy designed to allow 120 cars to park underneath. The solar panels are of a mat finish to help prevent glint and glare on sunny days.

It is anticipated that the solar panels will reduce CO2 emissions by 10.9 tonnes each year – equal to absorption by more than 500 trees – and reduce Batsford’s annual energy costs by almost 30%.

We’re delighted to introduce you to the expert team behind this project, Aspey Energy. Based in Evesham, they work with architects, developers and residential property owners, across the South West. From Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire to Warwickshire, the West Midlands and the Cotswolds, they specialise in renewable energy solutions and have been instrumental in guiding us through this journey.

Be sure to connect with Aspey Energy on their social media channels for insights into their work: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn.

These solar panels are not just functional; they’re designed to complement the natural beauty of our surroundings. As Matthew Aspey, Founder and Managing Director of Aspey Energy, shares: “It’s truly an honour to be entrusted with such an exciting project. We’ve worked diligently to ensure that our renewable energy installations seamlessly blend with the picturesque landscape of Batsford Arboretum. We’re excited about the potential these installations hold and look forward to witnessing their impact on the arboretum.

We believe in collaborating with experts like Aspey Energy to ensure the success of projects like this. We invite you to reach out to Matthew directly through their website or connect with him on LinkedIn to learn more about renewable energy solutions and ask any questions you may have.

We’d like to extend our sincere apologies for any inconvenience you may have encountered due to the ongoing installations in our visitor car parks. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to enhance our sustainability efforts.
